The Creighton Public Library along with Nebraska Extension invite youth to an after school program on popcorn on Wednesday, January 21 from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. Kids will learn how popcorn pops and how it goes from a seed to a snack.

The Winnetoon Carolers will be out and about the evening of Sunday, December 21. This is the 50th year of caroling for this group which was started by Elaine Boggs in 1975. They will be spreading the Christmas Spirit in Winnetoon, Creighton, and Verdigre.

Arlene died on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.

Gifts of JOY is a holiday outreach program started in 1980. It is sponsored by Creighton's Ministerial Association along with local churches and organizations with a goal to reach out to the community of Creighton NE and families with children in the Creighton public school system.

Choose a tag or two and purchase a gift or clothing for a child.

Tags are on trees at Gragerts and Avera Hospital. Wrapped gifts are due at Gragerts or the Hospital no later than December 15 for distribution to the families on December 18.

Food collection boxes are located at Gragert's Grocery, Avera Hospital and Dollar General. Each box has a list of suggested food items.

Cash donations are greatly appreciated to offset the cost of the food boxes, fruit and gift certificates. Donations can be dropped off at Midwest Bank, Creighton.

Creighton’s Parade of Lights will be Sunday, December 7 with registration beginning at 5:00 at the Creighton Public Library and the parade beginning at 6:00 p.m. There will be cash prizes for 1st and 2nd place. Creighton is the place to be on Sunday, December 7.  Enjoy the Parade of Lights which begins at 6 pm and travels west on main street.   Faith United Church located at 702 Bryant Street (north of Rader Feed)  is hosting a soup supper which will run from 4 - 7 pm.  They will be serving chili, potato soup, hot dogs, cinnamon rolls, cookies and drinks for a free will offering.  After enjoying a delicious soup meal and the parade, visit Santaland.  Drive through and see the beautiful lighted display then visit Santa's Workshop & Mrs. Claus' Gingerbread House from 6-9 pm.

Faithkeepers invite you to breakfast/lunch on Sunday, November 23 from 9:30-1:30 at the Bloomfield Community Center. The Faith Keepers will perform at 11:30. Creighton’s Annual Holiday Fair will be held on Saturday, November 22 from 9-2 at the Creighton Community Center.

Faith United Church in Creighton is hosting a Veteran's Appreciation Brunch on Tuesday, November 11 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the church located at 702 Bryant St. (north of Rader’s Feed store). On the menu: pancakes, egg bake, fruit cup, juice & coffee.  Veterans and auxiliary members eat free.  Everyone is invited and the meal is a freewill donation.  

The Creighton American Legion and VFW will hold their annual Veteran’s Day Program on Monday, November 10 at 9:00 a.m. at the Creighton High School with it repeating at the Care Center afterwards.
