The Nebraska Kidney Association is holding it’s annual Big Red Raffle for 2018 for a chance to win 2 tickets to the Nebraska vs. Michigan State football game on November 17. Upgrading of electric meters for Creighton residences and businesses by Nebraska Public Power District will begin on Monday, Oct. 15 and continue throughout the remainder of the month. The meter replacements are part of a program in 2018 to replace 43,000 existing electric meters in 33 communities served at retail by NPPD.
NPPD’s customer service organization will be contacting customers in Creighton to alert them to the installation of the meters. A District employee will make the change of the meters and will remove the old meter from the premises. A resident or business owner does not need to be there when the switch out occurs and there will be a short interruption of electric service.

St. Ludger School and Family Association will have a fish fry on Friday, November 2nd from 5pm to 7pm. They will be serving Fried Fish, french fries, salad and dessert bar. This is freewill offering with matching funds from Catholic Order of Foresters. Proceeds will go towards a new mudroom at the school.
Jennifer Doerr will be presenting a class at the Creighton Public Library on “folded book art” on Saturday, November 3 at 10:00 a.m. You will need to bring a 9” hardback book with at least 90 pages or you may use a weeded library book. You will also need a ruler that shows centimeters.
Governor Pete Ricketts is coming to Verdigre! He will be at the Verdigre Public Library on Tuesday, October 16, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to meet and greet Governor Ricketts! There will be a Library Open House with light refreshments from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Bring your camera and a friend.

Dr. Pat Castle, CEO and Founder of LIFE Runners is coming to Creighton to speak on "Living Pro-Life with Heroic Virtue" on Wednesday September 26 at 7pm in the Creighton High School Gym. The Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department is making plans for its annual 7 mile ATV/UTV poker run. The ride will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, beginning at the Brunswick fire hall. Check in is at 11:00 a.m. with the ride beginning at noon. The event will end with a hamburger and hot dog feed at the fire hall.
