As part of the 150th anniversary of Creighton, a historical booklet will be created. It will be a supplement to the “100 Years of Progress” booklet created in 1974. So, information and photos are being sought to help document noteworthy activities over the last 50 years. Please submit photos and write-ups by May 1, 2024. This deadline is fast approaching. Please do not assume that someone else will submit the story that you think should be included in the booklet.
Wanted are photos and or descriptions of the people, organizations and businesses who have contributed to the progress of the city over the years 1975 to 2024. Everyone who has an interesting story about Creighton’s history over the past fifty years is encouraged to submit information about it to the Creighton Public Library. Information can be sent electronically to crpulib@gmail.com via e-mail, text, Word files and jpegs, or dropped off at the library, or mailed to Creighton Public Library, 701 Chase St., Creighton, NE 68729.

Mark your calendars for the Bargain Buyway Spring Fling Vendor Fair on April 26 and 27 at the St. Ludger Social Hall. Friday’s hour’s will be from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday’s hours are 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be 14 amazing vendors from northeast Nebraska in one location.
Food, snacks, and beverages will be available with all proceeds going to Fr. David in Tanzania. Father currently has 19 parishes and only a small motorcycle for transportation.
The City of Creighton will be holding electronic recycling from April 29 to May 3. A trailer will be parked near the Firehall at 603 Redick Avenue. They will be accepting a wide range of electronic items for recycling and disposal. Help keep our environment clean and safe by responsibly disposing of your old electronics. Most all electronic devices will be accepted. Tube TVs will not be accepted. A full list of acceptable items may be found on the City Facebook page. A benefit is being held for Holly Hernandez of Center on Saturday, May 18 from 4-10 p.m. at the ZCBJ Hall in Verdigre. There will be a free will offering meal, silent auction, raffle, and live music. Holly is battling cancer.

The Creighton Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the entire community of Creighton, would like to invite people to participate in the annual “BerryPepper Days” Parade. The parade will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. This year’s parade will have the theme “Rockin Through the Ages”. The next Creighton community blood drive is set for Friday, April 26 from 12:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Avera Creighton Hospital. appointments are encouraged.
Creighton City Wide Cleanup will be held on Thursday, April 25 for the north side of main street. Please have your items curbside by 8:00 a.m. for pickup. Items accepted for free pickup are furniture, metal, old lawn mowers, general household and garage items and appliances with the refrigerant safely removed.
Items not accepted are televisions, tires, computers, chemicals, liquid paint (dry paint accepted), construction materials (no doors or windows), and no clothing.

The Creighton Chamber of Commerce will again be sponsoring the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Creighton City Park for ages up to 10. Please meet at the Swimming Pool parking lot to allow the children to get into their appropriate age groups.
