Zion Lutheran Church will be having their Ladies Spring guest evening on Wednesday, April 24th at 6:30pm. Fashion and Faith event will have a speaker on Human Trafficking. A light lunch will be served. All ladies of Christ are invited to this event and are encouraged to dress up.
The Bloomfield Community Club invites you to a Spring Tea. This fundraiser for the Bloomfield Community Club will be on May 5th at 3pm. It will take place at The Hive in Bloomfield. Enjoy a 3-course tea with entertainment between courses. Tickets are $15 and there is a limited number of tickets. The veterans of Creighton VFW Post 1151 will host their semi-annual Chicken Feed on Monday, April 15th from 5 - 7 pm for a free will donation. Proceeds will help Post 1151 support: VFW National Childrens Home, Voice of Democracy essay contest, Norfolk Veterans Home, Avenue of Flags, Funeral Honor Guard, Veterans Medical Support Programs, Hospital Equipment Lending Locker, Gifts of Joy and Santaland, Used Flag Disposal. Takeout and delivery service is offered. Janet Frank Quilts & Embroidery is offering a Benefit Barn Quilt class on Saturday, April 13. All proceeds will be given to Laura Frederick Sucha, owner of Country Cafe in Niobrara, who lost nearly everything in the flood. Please register early to get a seat in this class. Please have your non perishable donations on your front doorstep by 8 am. Mass of Christian Burial for Catherine “Cathy” Salmen, age 77, of Creighton, will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton. Reverend Jeremy Hans will be Celebrant, with burial in St. Ludger Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be April 8, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church, with a 7:30 p.m. Wake Service.

Renae M. Hunt with the Nebraska Humanities Council will present a program at the Creighton Public Library on Thursday, April 4 at 1:00 p.m. “Overland Trails: The Children on the Trail” will tell the story of the over 352,000 emigrants traveling the Oregon, Mormon, or California trails. One in five were under the age of 16. Many of these youths kept journals. This program is appropriate for all ages and is sponsored by the Nebraska Humanities Council.
The Private Pesticide Applicator and Chemigation Trainings that were scheduled for Thursday, March 14th at the Bloomfield Community Center will be held April 4, 2019. The Chemigation Training will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the Private Applicator Training will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Bloomfield.
The Nebraska Dept. of Transportation will be holding open house meetings in communities impacted by the severe flooding that occurred earlier this month. Representatives from the NDOT will provide updates on transportation related response and recovery efforts in the area and and will answer questions. All members of the of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend. Meeting dates, sites and times are Wednesday, April 3 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the Ponca Tribal Headquarters in Niobrara, and Friday, April 5 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Northeast Community College Lifelong Learning Center in Norfolk.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Clearwater Cemetery in Clearwater, Nebraska.
