Funeral services for Patricia Melcher, age 87, of Winnetoon, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. July 31, 2026, at Faith United Church in Creighton, Nebraska. Reverend Claire Gager will officiate, with burial in L'Eau Qui Court Cemetery in Niobrara, Nebraska.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Wonder Junction Vacation Bible School

Invite your friends to Wonder Junction Vacation Bible School at Faith Hope & Love Fellowship Church in Creighton NE Sunday, July 19 through Wednesday, July 22nd.  Registration is open at 5:45 PM.  VBS runs from 6:00 to 8:45 PM.   Preschool children through completed Grade 6 are encouraged to attend for Bible lessons, crafts, game time, snacks and dramas. Regenerative Ag Field Day

The Bazile Groundwater Management Area is hosting a Regenerative Ag Field Day on Friday, July 17th from 10am-Noon. The site is located near McLean - three miles west of the Highway 81/20 junction and a quarter mile north of 552nd Road.

This field day is the perfect opportunity for producers in northeast Nebraska to see regenerative ag in action and connect with like-minded producers. Explore a field where corn is planted with alfalfa. Learn real world strategies from regional experts on topics such as how to boost soil health, improve nutrient cycling, reduce inputs, and how to adapt when circumstances change.

Featured speakers include Junior Pfanstiel, Outside the Box Agronomy, and Zack Smith, The Stock Cropper. 

A free lunch, optional, will be provided after the event at The Breakroom in Randolph, NE. Limited spots are available! The deadline to register is Monday, July 6th. Producers interested in attending can call Marcus, BGMA Coordinator, at 402-371-7313.

Lewis & Clark NRD is hosting its annual Bow Creek Watershed Field Day June 17th at the Skylon Ballroom in Hartington from 9 to 4.

Funeral services for Garry Hazen, age 84, of David City formerly of Verdigre, Nebraska, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Creighton Community Center in Creighton, Nebraska. Delores Ruzicka will officiate, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Creighton.

Military honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1151, American Legion Post 74, and United States Navy Honor Guard.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Creighton Community Center.

Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton is in charge of arrangements.

Garry died Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Tour Nebraska

The Nebraska Rod and Custom Association Tour Nebraska will be coming to Creighton on Saturday, May 30 at approximately 8:55 a.m. at the east end of main street at the highway 13/59 junction. There will be 450 plus classic vehicles at least 30 years old separated into 2 groups approximately 15 minutes apart. They will be traveling to Center and on to Verdigre for their morning break. Bring lawn chairs and watch the parade go by.

Creighton residents, you’re invited to come together for a special community event celebrating our patriotism! Monday, May 4th at 1:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial in Creighton. News Channel Nebraska will be in Creighton filming a Spirit of Nebraska segment as part of the upcoming America 250 celebration. We’re hoping for a strong turnout to represent our amazing community! Veterans please wear your service hats/coats if you have them. Students & families and Community members of all ages are also encouraged to attend.

We’ll gather together to say the Pledge of Allegiance—a simple but powerful moment to honor our country.

A drone will be capturing the event, so let’s make Creighton shine!
